Interesting or Classic

So, as I mentioned earlier, we don’t actually have colors yet. I wanted the bridesmaids to be able to choose their own dresses and I didn’t want to get set on a color that turns out to be impossible to find. So we went in pretty blind–just looking for blues and greens. We came back with a better idea of what we might want (more on that up next!) but still needing to narrow it down. And I can’t push that decision off to the bridesmaids–this one’s on me.

A classic palette will look best with our venue, although there isn’t much that will just not go. So I headed for the usual suspects: Snippet & Ink, Pinterest and The Perfect Palette to find some ideas.

I love this muted color palette in greens and blues.

This one is similarly muted–I especially liked the shades of the books on the left, although I wouldn’t tie in all the pinks. And while they aren’t really right for our wedding, how awesome are those balloons?

Or what about a brighter feel? The cornflower blue bridesmaid dresses, the mixed flowers and the fun pops of green. This board is for a destination wedding, but I still like the mix (although it might be a little brighter than I was envisioning).

This one is one of my super favorites–I love the bright colors mixed with muted, and the emerald is unexpected but it goes so well. I love the overall feel of this board.

So what now? We need to choose ourselves some colors! How did you choose your colors? What’s your favorite source for inspiration boards?
